Perkins & Will
Design Principal
San Francisco
A design principal based in the San Francisco office of Perkins+Will, Cathy has led the design of diverse projects, from mixed-use buildings to civic institutions, from numerous higher education commissions to large-scale urban design projects. Simon’s award-winning practice is focused on urbanization, campuses and adaptive reuse, such as the conversion of the iconic San Francisco Ferry Building from a disused transit hub reborn as an internationally acclaimed public marketplace and office space.

Cathy is much in demand as a speaker and teacher on issues of urbanization, revitalization, preservation and reuse, and the ways and means of creating vibrant places that nurture the growth of community. Simon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with high honors from Wellesley College and a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. In 1986 she was elected into the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. She is a LEED accredited professional.
